Between the Parade and Eternity: Why We Choose to be a "Family in Preserve"
The 2026 Carnival season brought more than just rhythm and feathers to the streets; it brought a clear attempt to satirize and label the lifestyle of the Christian and conservative family. On one hand, parades used political tributes as a pretext to criticize what they call the "damages of the family in preserve." On the other, analysts and faith leaders are trying to figure out why the Christian public feels increasingly disconnected from the narratives proposed by the festivities and traditional politics.
While the carnival script parades its allegories, colors, and satires filled with irony about us "conservatives," here we are… with a new label. And honestly, if they’re going to call us "preserves," let’s make sure we are well-labeled.
Preserving Means Caring, Not Discarding
Let’s be honest: every preserve has a noble purpose. Nobody preserves something they intend to throw away. Preserving is caring. It is an act of intention. It is protecting something from the passage of time, from decay, and from the rush of the modern world. While society celebrates the ephemeral and the disposable, we choose to preserve what is truly valuable.
In the midst of confetti and streamers, there may be parade floats mocking us and choreographed satires meant for ridicule. But on the other side of the avenue, there are people who prefer to parade values that never go out of style: faith, family, commitment, and love for one’s neighbor.
Firm on the Rock, Not the Trend
And look… if we have to choose between being "disposable" or "preserved," we’ll take the thick glass jar, the tightly sealed lid, and perhaps even a gold ribbon. Because being "Preserved in Christ" doesn't mean being stuck in the past. It means being grounded on a Rock that doesn't shift with every new cultural trend or political convenience.
We know that not every "novelty" is progress. We understand that some roots need to go deep so that the fruits can be truly sweet and lasting. Carnival passes. The music ends. The costumes go back into the closet, and the ashes mark the end of the party. But faith? That remains unshaken.
The Quality Seal That Never Expires
Perhaps the greatest irony for those watching us from the outside is this: those who say we are "trapped in the past" fail to realize that we are, in fact, kept for the future.
So, let the drums roll. Over here, we respond with prayer, a smile on our faces, and a good dose of humor. If the world insists on the "canned" label, we accept the challenge—as long as the seal belongs to Heaven.
Preserved, Yes. In Christ, Always.
Expiration Date: Eternal Life.
Status: Preserved by Jesus Christ. ✝️
